The only thing bigger than the hair in Armadillo Acres trailer park is the drama. The guys and gals of this mobile Mecca have more than Bisquick on their minds -- at least thats what youll learn this afternoon when you check out
The Great American Trailer Park Musical at Parker Playhouse (707 SE Eighth St., Fort Lauderdale). In all its aluminum glory, this story centers on the lives of a few Florida gals trying to stay afloat in a sea of tears and Astroturf. It seems the marriage of one of their own is unraveling, thanks to the arrival of Pippi, a stripper on the run. While Pippis hunkered down at the Acres, shes also takin in the local flavor which is especially unfortunate for Jeanie the agoraphobic neighbor, since the flavor in question is her husband. What you can expect: lots of great dialogue and musical vignettes. Take this line wailed out during on of heart-broken Jeanies solo numbers: Just like clothes from Wal-Mart, my love lifes fallin apart.
Youll laugh, youll cry, then youll immediately cover your lawn in pink flamingos. Showtime is 2 p.m. Tickets cost $28.50 to $38.50. Call 954-462-0222, or visit www.parkerplayhouse.com.
